Summer Programs
Voyageurs National Park offers guided boat tours and naturalist programs during the summer months. Programs take place throughout the park and at the nearby Woodenfrog State Forest Campground. How to Make a Reservation from June 7 - August 31, 2008

All tours are subject to change, please call ahead for schedule changes. A minimum of 4 passengers are required for all tours on Rainy Lake. Call (888) 381-2873 to make a reservation for scheduled tour boat, Explore by Canoe and North Canoe trips. The reservation line is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Adult fees cover ages 17 and up, child fees cover ages 3-16, infants 2 and under are free.

A credit card is required to make reservations in advance. If you do not make advance reservations you may pay at the boat if space is available. If all seats have been paid for in advance, then no walk-on passengers will be accepted. Refunds will be issued ONLY if advance reservations are canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled tour departs. No refunds will be issued if less than 24 hours notice is given. 

FEDERAL SENIOR PASS and ACCESS PASS holders are eligible for a discount on park-operated tour boat and North Canoe fees. To receive the discounted rate you must provide the number on your federal Senior Pass or federal Access Pass when making advance reservations over the phone. If paying at the boat you must have a federal Senior Pass or Access Pass in your possession to receive the discount. No discount will be applied if you do not present your Senior Pass or Access Pass when paying. No discounts can be applied once the tour has started.

If paying by personal check you are required to provide your social security number if the amount due is over $50. If you do not wish to provide your social security number you may pay with cash or credit card. Visa and MasterCard are accepted for payment. 

How to make reservations for tours departing after September 1, 2008

This information applies to those individuals who make reservations for tours after September 1. Call the respective visitor center where your tour departs. To reach Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center call (218) 875-2111. To reach Rainy Lake Visitor Center call (888) 381-2873 or (218) 286-5258.

Credit cards are NOT accepted after August 31. Cash or check only (correct change is appreciated). All federal Senior Pass and federal Access Pass and refund information continues to apply at this time.

Winter Programs
During the winter months, Voyageurs National Park offers winter programs from mid-January through mid-March at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. Programs are made possible by the Friends of Voyageurs National Park.

Park volunteer, Ida Mainville steers a canoe full of modern-day voyageurs.  

Did You Know?
You can see the park just as the voyageurs did over 200 years ago. Each summer the park offers guided trips aboard a 26-foot North Canoe. Call for more infomation at 1-888-381-2873.
