Socorro Resource Management Plan Revision and Environmental Impact Statement

Welcome to the web site for the BLM, Socorro Field Office Resource Management Plan Revision (RMPR) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to analyze and update BLM’s management of public land in Socorro and Catron Counties New Mexico. The plan revision will update current management in response to new legislation, changing policies, and changing uses of public land and its resources.

The plan revision process, begun during the summer of 2002, is expected to take approximately two years to complete. We invite you to visit this web site periodically to follow along and participate with us as we proceed through the planning steps … as we inventory the resources and uses, develop alternative plans to evaluate and assess, and select a plan to serve a variety of public uses into the future.

We encourage and welcome you to contact us and let us know your interests, thoughts and ideas.

The comment period ended July 16, 2007.
