announces the launch of African Centre for Integrated Laboratory
Training courses: CDC, through the President’s Emergency Plan
for AIDS Relief, worked with the South African National Health
Laboratory System and the South African National Institute of
Communicable Disease to establish this groundbreaking centre, which
will support Africa’s rapidly growing demand for a well-trained,
competent, and motivated workforce in HIV and TB diagnostics. Its
first course will begin this week.

2008 HIV/AIDS IMPLEMENTERS' MEETING: HIV/AIDS implementers from around the world
gathered in Kampala, Uganda from June 3-7 for the 2008 HIV/AIDS Implementers’ Meeting. Recognizing the rapid expansion of HIV/AIDS programs worldwide, the focus of this year’s meeting
was building the capacity of local prevention, treatment, and care programs; enhancing quality; and promoting coordination among partners.

Research Group (RZHRG), the
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), and other national and

counseling and testing (HCT) providers address the complex issues
related to counseling and testing with couples.
