The Professional Development Program (PDP) cooperates with U.S. universities and other public and private organizations to arrange and manage educational and training programs for agricultural administrators and scientists from developing and middle income countries. These participants are sponsored by Food & Agricultural Organization, United Nations Development Project, the World Bank, the Inter- American Development Bank and their own governments. Additionally, this PDP manages Resource Service Support Agreements with the Agency for International Development. These arrangements deal with food industries/agribusinesses either in a direct technical sense, (e.g., marketing, post harvest losses, food engineering, food safety, etc.), or the provision of education and training related to private sector/agribusiness development.
