GOVERNOR, JAPANESE CULTURAL CENTER OF HAWAI`I HONOR EDUCATORS

September 29 - Governor joined the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai`i (JCCH) in honoring four Hawai`i educators and a corporate honoree at the JCCH Celebration of Leadership Achievement dinner.

"JCCH and my Administration have a shared commitment to education, strengthening international partnerships, enhancing cultural understanding, and change and innovation," the Governor said.

The Governor also shared the pride she takes in serving as an unofficial ambassador between Hawai`i and Japan, traveling to Tokyo and Okinawa in June and to Ehime in October.

Proceeds from the event, attended by over 1,000 people, benefited the JCCH's education programs that share the history, heritage and culture of the Japanese-American experience in Hawai`i.
