BYU HAWAI`I WELCOMES PRESIDENT STEVEN C. WHEELWRIGHT

November 6 - The Governor welcomed Dr. Steven C. Wheelwright to Hawai`i during a celebration in honor of his inauguration as president of Brigham Young University Hawai`i.

"Dr. Wheelwright will be an outstanding leader in national and international arenas," Governor Lingle said, referring to BYU Hawai`i's diverse student body, where 49 percent of all students are international. 

Dr. Wheelwright is a former business professor at Stanford and senior associate dean of the Harvard Business School MBA program. He is the ninth president of Brigham Young University Hawai`i.

"I am sure Dr. Wheelwright's leadership will increase students' potential and I look forward to working with him in the coming years," the Governor said.
