SENIOR AFFORDABLE RENTAL FACILITY DEDICATED IN WAHIAWA

August 13 - "When a development team comes forward and says they are willing to build safe, clean and affordable housing, [my Administration] will go to every length possible to make the project work," Governor Lingle said at the dedication of a new affordable rental housing facility for seniors.  While visiting the facility, the Governor toured several units and met with residents.

The project is a public-private partnership between the state Hawai`i Housing Finance Development Corporation (HHFDC) and developer California Dreaming Partnership.  Through the partnership, HHFDC is providing $9,262,500 in federal and state tax credits over the next 10 years to assist in financing.

The development is a three-story complex that features security entries, a garden park, picnic/barbeque area and senior community center, as well as a coin-operated laundry on every floor.  The rental units are targeted at seniors aged 62 and above, with annual incomes ranging from $24,950 to $28,500
