GOVERNOR WELCOMES DELEGATES TO INTERNATIONAL PATENT AND TRADEMARK MEETING

May 13 - Governor Lingle hosted a reception for leaders of United States, Asian and European patent offices who were in Hawai`i for a first-ever international patent and trademark meeting.  Among the guests included Jon Dudas, Undersecretary of Commerce and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, who Governor Lingle met with in Washington, D.C. in February to discuss patenting Hawai`i’s innovations and protecting intellectual property rights.  "Hawai`i is not just open for business," Undersecretary Dudas said.  "It is right for business."
