GOVERNOR, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS OPEN MAUI BUSINESS ACTION CENTER
April 13 - As part of the State's
ongoing efforts to make it easier for Hawai`i companies to do business,
Governor Lingle and the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA)
dedicated and officially opened the Maui Business Action Center (BAC) in
Kahului. "The Center is symbolic because small business is the
backbone of our economy," Governor Lingle said. The center provides
assistance in obtaining and completing business, tax license and employer
registration forms, as well as information on permits and licenses for
state, county and federal government agencies. The center also hosts
counseling and workshops offered by other business resource programs to
address alternative financing, government procurement and other useful
information.
With the addition of the BAC, customers can register their business with DCCA, apply for tax licenses with the Department of Taxation, register as an employer with Department of Labor and obtain a federal employer identification number from the IRS.
