GOVERNOR BIDS ALOHA TO DEPLOYING TROOPS

September 21 - The Governor and State Adjutant General Major General Robert Lee bid aloha to 16 soldiers from the Hawai`i Army National Guard and United States Army Reserve who are deploying to Afghanistan to train and mentor the Afghanistan National Police as an embedded training team.

The Governor acknowledged the hardship of deployments on families, and assured the soldiers that their families will be embraced by the entire Hawai`i `ohana, or family.

"You are the finest individuals in our state and nation," the Governor said.  "Your service and sacrifice is admirable and greatly appreciated."
