GOVERNOR LINGLE DELIVERS FIFTH STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

January 22 - "The future begins today," Governor Lingle said in her fifth State of the State Address to the people of Hawai‘i. The Governor addressed a joint session of the State Legislature and outlined her Administration’s priorities for the legislative session.  She also provided details on key initiatives to increase the standard of living for Hawai‘i residents through innovation in education, the economy, workforce development, global competition, and government, as well as efforts to invest in the future and improve the quality of life in our state.  After delivering her address, the Governor visited with Hawai`i golf sensation Tadd Fujikawa, who recently tied for 20th place against golf professionals in the SONY Open.  In her State of the State Address, the Governor said Fujikawa "captured our imagination here at home and around the world."
