GOVERNOR PROMOTES INNOVATION AT OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS BUSINESS CONFERENCE AND ECONOMIC EXPO

May 22 - "Innovation is not about recent gadgets," Governor Lingle told members of the Native Hawaiian community at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Business Conference and Economic Expo.  "It means finding a new way to do something better, faster and in a more creative manner," she added.

The Governor encouraged delegates to the conference to embrace innovation as a way to build a sustainable economy for Hawai`i and shared highlights of the Hawai`i Innovation Initiative - a key component of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's 2007 legislative package. The initiative takes the ideas and insights of the people of Hawai`i and transforms them into products and services that will create new and higher-paying jobs while raising the standard of living for the people of Hawai`i
