GOVERNOR KICKS OFF HAWAI`I MENTAL HEALTH TRANSFORMATION PROCESS

July 11 - Governor Lingle attended a meeting to kick-off the Hawai`i Mental Health Transformation State Incentive Grant process.  During the working conference, the Governor met with members of the Hawai`i Mental Health Transformation Working Group and its subgroups, who will develop the Comprehensive Mental Health Plan to transform the delivery of quality mental health services across the state.

The Governor shared the progress the state has made and emphasized the significance of the grant. "Mental health touches everyone," she said. "We must unite to provide the best mental health care possible."

The transformation plan will implement a five-year, $10.95 million Mental Health Transformation State Incentive Grant that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded to Hawai‘i last October.
