GOVERNOR HONORS JEWISH COMMUNITY SERVICES' VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

October 7 - Governor Lingle joined Jewish Community Services (JCS), a not-for-profit social services agency, in recognizing Lyn Zukerkorn as Volunteer of the Year.

"Every person you help means we have a stronger community," the Governor said as she thanked Lyn and JCS staff for providing services and referrals for those who need help.

Governor Lingle also outlined efforts her administration is leading to assist Hawai`i residents in need, including providing emergency transitional shelters for homeless families living on the Leeward Coast of O`ahu and across the state; increasing the number of affordable housing available on the market; and providing for Hawai`i's aging population.

Lyn is a co-founder and current board member of JCS.  She has also served as the past president of the Women's Association of the Honolulu Theater for Youth and past board member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
