O`AHU BOARD MEMBERS AND COMMISSIONERS SWORN-IN
"You have the ability
to make an impact on the community," Governor Lingle said during a
swearing-in ceremony for O`ahu residents appointed to serve on various state
boards and commissions. This year, the Governor appointed 257 O`ahu
residents to 96 different boards and commissions. Governor Lingle
presided over the ceremony and Chief Judge Mark Recktenwald of the
Intermediate Court of Appeals administered the official oath of office to
the new members.
Nearly 1,300 people statewide serve on more than 160 boards and commissions that were established by the state constitution, state statutes, or executive orders. This year’s appointees include 353 people from around the state to serve on boards that cover a wide range of industries and issues.
