GOVERNOR HONORS HAWAI`I'S TOP 250 BUSINESSES

September 19 - Governor Lingle emphasized the need for innovation in Hawai`i's workforce at a luncheon to honor Hawai`i Business Magazine's Top 250 companies in the state.

Governor Lingle asked Hawai`i business leaders to infuse innovation in their employees by investing in human capacity, not just for the survival of their own companies, but for the future of the State.

"We need to invest in human capacity, not just equipment, and ensure our workers are gaining new skills with every passing day," Governor Lingle said.

The Governor also congratulated the honorees for their success in business and thanked them for giving back to the state.  Total sales of the top 250 businesses in 2007 add up to $42.3 billion, a 8.9 percent increase over last year’s $38.9 billion.
