WALGREENS OPENS FIRST STORE IN HAWAI`I

November 1 - As part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's ongoing efforts to expand business opportunities and keep Hawai`i's economy growing, Governor Lingle participated in the grand opening of Hawai`i's first Walgreens store on Kapi`olani Boulevard in Honolulu.

"It's important for residents to have choices and Walgreens will bring added service to the people of Hawai`i, including competition," said Governor Lingle.

"Walgreens also means bringing back our keiki o`ka`aina back home," the Governor added.  "It is great to see two local people, Regina Kaaihili and Clark Fujihara, who came back home and now work in the pharmacy department."

Walgreens first Hawai`i store is 13,000 square feet, with 9,000 square feet of sales area and 20,000 products in stock, including 50 local partners for products such as food, beverages, souvenirs and automotive needs
