Training for Federal Agency Personnel

The Philadelphia District Office offers ongoing training to federal agency personnel covering the administration of the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA). There are currently three types of training offered:

SHARE Presentations

In keeping with the President's Safety, Health and Return-to-Employment (SHARE) initiative, The Department of Labor is committed to working with federal agencies to develop new workplace strategies to improve safety and health at high injury-rate sites. As part of this committment, the Department has developed presentations designed to assist agencies in improving the timeliness of reporting claims through electronic and other means and provide guidance in offering suitable work to injured employees.

Injury Compensation Specialist Workshop

A three-day course designed for those employees who process workers' compensation claims within their agencies. The course is designed to benefit both the beginning and experienced Injury Compensation Specialist.

Classes are held quarterly at the Philadelphia District Office, 170 S. Independence Mall West, Philadelphia, PA 19106. There is no fee charged for the course or training materials. Travel and per diem expenses are the responsibility of the employing agency, and classes are limited to 20 participants.

Management Seminars

Half-day seminars are available at your location to instruct managers and supervisors in their responsibilities under FECA. Requests are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and should be addressed to William Staarman, District Director.
