Park Housing and Other Accomodations
A limited amount of park housing is available for researchers to rent during the summer field season. Because housing is extremely limited, researchers who are working on park-funded research will be given first priority when booking space for themselves or their technicians. Those who are working on projects that address issues of high concern to park management will be given second priority.

Dormitory-style housing is available at Lake -this facility has shared bedrooms and cooking facilities. A request for dorm space should be made by contacting the Research Permit Office at (307) 344-2234. Requests should be made at least six months in advance. It is advised to have an alternate housing plan. Other lodging is available in the park and in nearby communities.

Did You Know?
There are more people hurt by bison than by bears each year in Yellowstone. Park regulations state that visitors must stay at least 25 yards away from bison or elk and 100 yards away from bears.
