Drafted after he graduated from college in the summer of 1952, journalism student Robert Krishef was classified as an infantryman and sent off to Korea. But he caught a couple of breaks, arriving only a few months before the truce which ended hostilities and getting assigned to the Public Information Office, where he could hone his skills in writing about his companys exploits. He also got close-up looks at celebrities who were entertaining the troops, most notably Marilyn Monroe.
