Farmers Seeking Assistance Under the Trade Adjustment Assistance Program Must Apply by January 31, 2006
Groups of U.S. agricultural producers seeking assistance under the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Farmers program for fiscal year 2006 have until January 31, 2006, to file a petition with the Foreign Agricultural Service. Under the TAA program, USDA provides technical assistance and cash benefits to farmers and certain fishermen if increasing imports of a like or directly competitive commodity contributed importantly to a decline in producer prices.
