September is truly women's month!

This week, we celebrate the 169th birthday of Queen Lili`uokalani, one of Hawai`i's beloved female leaders. She dedicated her life to her people and will always be remembered for her legacy of leadership. 

Women's leadership is also being celebrated this week with events commemorating the 35th anniversary of Title IX, which has provided opportunities for countless young women to excel in athletics and academics.

On September 25th, I will host the fourth annual International Women's Leadership Conference. Women from countries as diverse as Afghanistan, Indonesia and America will spend a full day motivating Hawai`i's women to achieve success, as well as inspire future generations.
