"The Hawai`i Innovation Initiative incorporates key education elements, which build the science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, skills of our students.
One critical piece of STEM education is hands-on learning.
Hawai`i high school robotics teams have been competing throughout the mainland using imagination, ingenuity and STEM skills to build robots and solve engineering challenges.
One team, Waiakea, has earned a position to compete in the upcoming National Championships. In March of next year, Hawai`i will host a 32-team regional robotics competition at the Stan Sheriff Arena.
If you want to help students gain an invaluable perspective into the world of engineering and innovation, while competing in a fun and professional environment, visit our robotics website at www.robotics.hawaii.gov."
