"Our Administration has proposed a comprehensive $346 million tax relief package to help those who need it most.  We are working hard to give your hard-earned money back to you.

Many components of my tax relief package are moving through the Legislature including reinstating the gas tax exemption to lower fuel prices and the Tax Payer Protection Act, which requires the tax director to adjust tax brackets in response to inflation.

However, critical tax relief such as eliminating the general excise tax on foods, providing additional exemptions for school-aged children and elderly dependents, and increasing the standard deduction have stalled in the Legislature.

With the legislative session half-way through, there is no better time to contact legislators and ask for the passage of our Administration's much needed tax relief package.  Help ease the high cost of living by taking action today."
