"As all public and private schools as well as universities resume classes, we are seeing progress of our Hawai`i Innovation Initiative.

A key focus of the initiative is education in science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM skills. All Kaua`i high schools as well as Kihei Charter School on Maui are now operating STEM academies. The newly-renovated Kapi`olani Community College STEM Center is also preparing students for careers in these important fields.

Honolulu Community College is leading the development of our creative industries sector through the Music Enterprise Learning Experience or MELE program to help students learn the various elements of the music industry.

You can learn more about the Hawai`i Innovation Initiative by visiting our website at www.hawaii.gov/gov."
