June 30, 2008: ILAB Published Solicitation for Cooperative Agreement Applications (SGA 08-07) for Research on Forced Labor
ILAB will award up to $1.25 million through a cooperative agreement to a qualified organization and/or Association to carry out research in eight (8) countries on forced labor in the production of goods, and to develop strategies to assist governments, industries, and/or third parties in taking action to address these problems. The deadline for submission of applications is August 8, 2008.


June 17, 2008: ILAB Announces Solicitation for Cooperative Agreement Applications (SGA 08-10)
ILAB announces the availability of funds in the amount of U.S. $500,000 to be awarded by Cooperative Agreement to a qualifying organization for the purpose of building the capacity of the Afghanistan Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled to increase knowledge of the labor code and internationally-recognized core labor principles among the judiciary and the public. The closing date for applications is August 14, 2008.

ILAB held a Bidders’ Meeting for potential applicants in Washington, D.C. on April 24, 2008.


April 24, 2008: ILAB Published its FY 2008 Solicitation for Cooperative Agreement Applications (SGA 08-01)
ILAB will award up to $20.5 million in cooperative agreement awards to organizations to combat exploitive child labor in Guinea, Jordan, Madagascar, Nicaragua, and Yemen. The deadline for submission of applications is June 24, 2008.


April 8, 2008: ILAB Announced a Notice of Intent to Fund International Child Labor Elimination Projects in Fiscal Year 2008
A Federal Register notice, published today, states that ILAB intends to obligate approximately USD 21 million to organizations to address child labor and forced labor internationally. ILAB intends to award cooperative agreements to support efforts to address exploitive child labor in the following five countries: Guinea, Jordan, Madagascar, Nicaragua, and Yemen. ILAB also intends to award a cooperative agreement to support research on forced labor in selected countries to be determined.
