  Independent federal agency devoted to accessibility for people with disabilities. The Access Board website includes information on federal guidelines and standards; technical assistance, training and research; and enforcement.   The Administration on Developmental Disabilities ensures that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families participate in the design of and have access to culturally competent services, supports, and other assistance and opportunities that promotes independence, productivity, and integration and inclusion into the community.
  
  
• Assistive Technology Showcase
  The General Services Administration's Assistive Technology (AT) Showcase, sponsored by the Center for IT Accommodation (CITA), displays state-of-the-art assistive technologies and ergonomic solutions. The Showcase supports government managers, supervisors, employees, and the public with a wide range of assistive technology equipment.
  
  
• Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA): Guide for Small Businesses and Other ADA Information
  The U.S. Small Business Administration partnered with the U.S. Department of Justice in developing this 15-page illustrated guide to assist small businesses to understand and comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The guide presents an overview of some basic ADA requirements for small businesses, provides guidance on how to make business services accessible, and provides information on tax credits and deductions that may be used to offset specific cost.
  
  
• National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities
  The National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is focused on promoting the health of people who are living with disabilities. • Center for Information Law and Policy: The Federal Web Locator
  The Federal Web Locator is a service provided by the Center for Information Law and Policy and is intended to be the one stop shopping point for federal government information on the World Wide Web. This list is maintained to bring the cyber citizen to the federal government's doorstep.
  
  
• Center for Information Technology Accommodation
  The General Services Administration's Center for IT Accommodation (CITA) provides assistive technology solutions to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities. CITA is the government's principal advocate and coordinator for Section 508 implementation that requires agencies to make information technology accessible for people with disabilities, and is recognized as the government-wide policy resource for Section 508.
  
• Code of Federal Regulations
  The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government.
  
  
• Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP)
  The Department of Defense (DoD) established the CAP to improve accessibility for people with disabilities throughout the DoD and remove the cost of accommodations. TRICARE, the DoD's military health system serves as the executive agent for CAP. CAP's mission is to provide assistive technology and accommodations to ensure people with disabilities have equal access to the information environment and opportunities in DoD and throughout the Federal government.

  The General Services Administration's Office of Small Business Utilization (SBU) advocates for small, minority, veteran, disabled veteran, HUBZone, and women business owners. Its mission is to promote increased access to GSA's nationwide procurement opportunities. SBU monitors and implements small business policies and manages a range of programs that nurture entrepreneurial opportunities, open doors to new business horizons, and enhance technological capabilities.

  The U.S. Census Bureau serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. The Census Bureau provides data on disability based on three primary sources: the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), the decennial census of population, and the Current Population Survey (CPS).

  Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is a Federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Programs for which CMS is responsible include Medicare, Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), HIPAA, and CLIA.

  Medicaid is a program administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, that pays for medical assistance for certain individuals and families with low incomes and resources. This program is jointly funded by the Federal and State governments (including the District of Columbia and the Territories) to assist States in providing medical long-term care assistance to people who meet certain eligibility criteria.

• Library of Congress: The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS)
  NLS administers a free library program of Braille and recorded materials list circulated to eligible borrowers through a network of cooperating libraries.
  
  
• Military Health System (TRICARE)
  TRICARE is the Department of Defense (DoD) health care program for active duty and retired members of the uniformed services, their families, and survivors. TRICARE also provides health care and accommodations to DoD employees with disabilities.

  The National Council on Disability (NCD) is an independent federal agency making recommendations to the President and Congress on the wide range of issues affecting Americans with disabilities.
  
  
• National Institute for Literacy (NIFL)
  The National Institute for Literacy is administered by the Secretaries of Education, Labor, and Health and Human Services, who make up the governing Interagency Group. The Institute provides national leadership regarding literacy, coordinates literacy services and policy, and serves as a national resource for adult education and literacy programs.

• Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA)
  RSA is located in the U.S. Department of Education and provides national leadership for, and administration and evaluation of, grant programs, service projects and rehabilitation training discretionary grant programs that develop and implement comprehensive and coordinated programs of vocational rehabilitation, supported employment and independent living for individuals with disabilities.
