Colorado's 8.3 million acres of BLM public lands, along with 27 million acres of mineral estate, are concentrated primarily in the western portion of the State. The lands range from alpine tundra, colorful canyons, and mesas in the southwest, to rolling sage-covered hills in the northwest.  These public lands play a vital role in providing open space and contribute to Colorado's quality of life.

Attention All Vendors
Conducting Business with BLM

On October 1, 2008, the BLM began the transition to a new financial accounting system. While all existing data is being converted and the new system is being brought on line, the BLM will have only limited ability to pay its vendors. We anticipate this period of limited ability will extend through mid-November 2008. Once a DOI bureau has transitioned to FBMS that bureau will begin using FedConnect. DOI bureaus that have not transitioned to FBMS will continue to use IDEAS EC.

During this period payments to vendors may be delayed. The BLM will make every effort to process payments in accordance with Prompt Pay Act requirements. However, vendors should be prepared for the possibility that payments could be delayed for up to 45 days.

Effective immediately, you may call 877-480-9724 if you have a question regarding the payment of a specific invoice. To read the entire Notice which has additional important information, please click here.             (last modified 10/24/08)
