St. Clair County F3 Tornado - January 10, 1975

The St. Clair County tornado was one of 11 tornadoes that touched down across Alabama on this date. Three of the tornadoes were violent, rated as F3 or higher, and damage was significant. The National Weather Service surveyed the damage area from the violent tornado which touched down in St. Clair County. Here is the storm summary of the damage area. St. Clair County Tornado

An F3 tornado was on the ground across St. Clair County from Pell City to Ragland. The tornado track was approximately 20 miles long. The tornado began at 4:14 PM CST.

At least 54 homes were destroyed and 307 homes were damaged. 15 trailers were destroyed and 27 businesses were damaged or destroyed. One person was killed at a service station.

House damage in Ragland.
