Cartoon characters from The Space Place, NASA's award-winning Web site for kids, present their own talk show from the Space Place Clubhouse. In this episode, their guest is CloudSat deputy project scientist, Deborah Vane. The goal of "Space Place Live!" is to introduce kids to the human, down-to-Earth side of real scientists and engineers working in the space program. Each guest is presented as a passionate and accomplished role model for every child interested in science or engineering. Deb explains how clouds work and why it is important to understand them. She also talks about how she got interested in astronomy and Earth science and how more and more women are choosing to be scientists and engineers.

This program was first broadcast on NASA TV Education File Schedule August 25, 2004.
