USDA issued a proposed rule to amend its bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) regulations to establish a new category of regions that recognizes those that present a minimal risk of introducing BSE into the United States via the importation of certain low-risk live ruminants and ruminant products. Text bullet USDA Announces Additional Allocations Under Fiscal 2003 Quality Samples Program
The Foreign Agricultural Service announced additional funding allocations totaling $307,100 to seven organizations under the fiscal year 2003 Quality Samples Program (QSP) to help expand export sales. In July, USDA awarded $1.4 million to 18 organizations. (10/06/03)

The Foreign Agricultural Service today announced allocations of about $2.8 billion under USDA’s export credit guarantee programs for fiscal year 2004. These initial allocations cover sales of U.S. agricultural commodities to 20 countries and regions. (09/30/03)
