Ellis L. Reinherz, M.D., Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School & Chief, Laboratory of Immunobiology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute
Dr. Reinherz stated that there is enough knowledge and expertise to manipulate the thymocyte repertoire to control the generation of naïve and memory cells within the peripheral lymphoid system. This would enable the control of the specificity and diversity of these disease-fighting cells. Establishing a thymic vaccination technology capable of selectively manipulating the immune repertoire has broad implications for medicine.
