Select-Committee Reports Finds Stolen Vote to Give Illegal Immigrants Benefits was IllegitimateRep. Brian Bilbray, Chairman of the Immigration Reform Caucus, highlighted a report issued today by the Select Committee to Investigate the Voting Irregularities of August 2, 2007 that confirmed a vote taken that evening was incorrect. The Select Committee was formed to address the unprecedented events surrounding and following an August 2nd House vote on a Republican proposal that sought to ensure that taxpayer dollars could not be used to employ or provide housing for illegal immigrants. The findings reveal that vote recorded by the Democratic Majority – Roll Call Vote 814 – was incorrect. Rep. Bilbray issued the following statement on the Select Committee’s report: |
