Export Compliance is on the move!  The requirements under the new Foreign 
Trade Regulations will be implemented in 23 days, October 1, 2008!
Listed below are the various outreach and education opportunities coming 
to a city near you!  Help us to help you "Get it right the FIRST time!"
       
Town Hall Meetings
------------------
The Foreign Trade Division (FTD) is sponsoring Free Town Hall Meetings and 
AESPcLink workshops for paper filers in several cities.  The U.S. Census 
Bureau experts will carefully explain the changes from the Foreign Trade 
Statistics Regulations to the new Foreign Trade Regulations to help the 
trade community understand the new reporting requirements so they can avoid 
significant new penalties for noncompliance.

AES Export Compliance Seminars
         ------------------------------
Be the first to attend an AES Compliance Seminar since the release of 
the New Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR). Various organizations are 
sponsoring Automated Export System (AES) Compliance Seminars and throughout 
the country.  The U.S. Census Bureau and port officers from the U.S. 
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will participate as presenters. The 
Census Bureau experts will teach you about export regulations, explain your 
responsibilities under the laws, thoroughly cover the filing of required 
export information through the Automated Export System (AES), and make sure 
you understand the Schedule B classification requirements.  The CBP experts 
will thoroughly cover port requirements and efforts against terrorism and 
international narcotics trafficking.  Participants will receive a certificate 
for attending the seminar.
On the second day, there will be an AESPcLink Workshop where participants 
can enjoy the benefits of FREE electronic filing of their export information 
via the Windows-based desktop PC Component AESPcLink.  Receive certification 
on using the AESPcLink program! Come learn how to successfully file your 
export information in this hands-on PC training workshop. All training is 
provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce / U.S. Census Bureau / Foreign 
Trade Division.

AES Export Compliance Briefings

The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Commercial Service are offering a series 
of Export Compliance Webinars August 19, 2008 through September 30, 2008. 
The webinars are designed to educate the exporting trade community on the new 
Foreign Trade Regulations.
