The Summit will also provide an excellent opportunity for asthma champions throughout North Carolina to showcase success stories and share strategies. |

Description: | CCAC is entering its 3rd year flying air quality flags. Schools, daycares, YMCAs, county office buildings, Wal-Mart, Crowders Mountain State Park, and Sheile Nature Museum are some of the participants with presentations addressing the AQI and respiratory health, relationship to asthma, etc. It is an opportune time to increase asthma awareness and the response to our air quality: why monitoring air quality is so important. Our partners need to be recognized. This will be coupled with press and JV. |

Description: | In celebration of World Asthma Day and Asthma Awareness Month, the Wake County Asthma Coalition is hosting a Family Picnic at Pullen Park at 520 Ashe Ave. (at the corner of Ashe and Western Blvd. in Downtown Raleigh) ‑ Shelter #6 on May 10th. A program for adults and children is planned from 10am ‑ 12 noon. Families with asthmatic children and/or adults are invited to attend. Families should plan to bring a picnic lunch; beverages and cookies will be provided. There is also an opportunity to make a donation and be entered into a drawing for a full week at Camp Challenge (a camp for asthmatic and diabetic kids ages 7 - 17) and other prizes. Door prizes will also be awarded. Combine fun with an opportunity to learn more about asthma, the Wake County Asthma Coalition and upcoming community projects. |
