Event: Asthma 500 Contest

Description: The Asthma Program at the Indiana State Department of Health is holding the first Asthma 500 Contest. All children ages 5 to 14 can complete asthma-related activities for the chance to win autographed merchandise from Chip Ganassi Racing Team drivers Dan Wheldon, Scott Dixon and Reed Sorenson, tickets to the Indianapolis 500 qualifying and practice days at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Wal-mart gift cards and more!

Contest winners will be randomly selected and notified on May 1, 2008, to coincide with Asthma Awareness Month and the Indianapolis 500. Participants must complete the activity that corresponds to their age group (5-7, 8-11, and 12-14). Contest activities and entry forms on the Web site. All contest entries must be received by April 30, 2008. Only one entry per person will be accepted. For paper copies, questions about the contest, or more information on asthma, please contact the Asthma Program.

Event: World Asthma Day Screenings 2008

Description: Asthma screening and pulmonary function screening along with education and interpretation by allergist and/or pulmonologist. There will be an "Ask the Expert" table for any type of questions. Fun game activities for children.
