Description: The Communities in Action for Asthma-Friendly Environments National Forum provides a venue for leaders of innovative and successful community-based asthma programs to tell their stories, describe their outcomes and evaluation methods, and present key elements of their programs. The Forum also gives community-based asthma programs from across the country the opportunity to review the findings of the University of Michigan Asthma Health Outcomes Project (AHOP), which identified common themes and features of programs with demonstrated, positive impacts on asthma-related health outcomes. The model community asthma programs, EPA’s dedicated staff, and others committed to improving health outcomes for people with asthma help Forum participants develop concrete strategies to replicate key elements of program success in their communities.
