Cultural Demonstration Program
The park hosts regional cultural demonstrators throughout the summer and at various times throughout the year, including March for Arizona Archeology and Heritage Month and November for National American Indian Heritage Month.

Science and Education Center Lecture Series
These lectures are open to the public and cover a variety of scientific topics.

Artist-In-Residence Program
This program allows artists to spend time living and working in the park, sharing their experiences with visitors.

General Management Plan Amendment
Work is beginning on an amendment to the Petrified Forest National Park General Management Plan that includes planning for lands added to the park by the Petrified Forest National Park Expansion Act of 2004.

Science Day Camps
In June and July 2008 Archeology and Palentology Day Camps were sponsored by Petrified Forest National Park and the Holbrook School District. Participants explored the park with scientists, learning about the natural and cultural resources while assisting in the collection of data, including archeological site surveys and fossil excavations.

 
 

Boundary Expansion for Petrified Forest National Park
More than doubling the size of the park, a boundary expansion has been approved for Petrified Forest National Park.

Little Colorado River Valley National Heritage Area
Petrified Forest National Park is a proud partner in the development of the Little Colorado River Valley National Heritage Area.
