Partner Profile The Southwood Fire Department provides fire protection and rescue services to a small area within the Town of Onondaga in upstate New York. The department operates out of one station with a membership of 26 volunteer professionals. The fire department purchases green power to cover 100 percent of its power needs and is the first fire station in the nation to join the EPA Green Power Partnership. Southwood Fire Department is setting an example to the community and our industry to better the environment. "We are excited about "going green" and hope to explore other avenues such as bio-Diesel engines and energy audits to reduce usage", said Fire Chief Glenn Korec.
