Partner Profile Founded in 1831, New York University (NYU) is now one of the largest private universities in the United States. As a member of the Green Power Leadership Club, NYU purchases wind renewable energy certificates equal to 100 percent of its electricity use. In 2007, NYU became the largest academic purchaser of green power in the United States and received a Green Power Leadership award. Cecil Scheib, the University's director of Energy and Sustainability for the Division of Facilities and Construction Management, says, "We are proud of the work that we have been able to do thus far and look forward to continuing to 'green' NYU." |
