Partner Profile Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters, a founding Green Power Partner, is a specialty coffee company committed to quality and sustainability in both product and practice. Batdorf & Bronson purchases renewable energy certificates equivalent to its company-wide total yearly gas and electric bill. The company also has a 4 kW photovoltaic panel on the roof of its roastery that contributes battery power to the company's computers. "We have been improving our sustainable business practices since the company was founded in 1986. Each year we make a significant reduction in our environmental footprint, and it begins with our commitment to the purchase of renewable energy," said Dave Wasson, Vice President and General Manager. In 2004 and 2007, Batdorf & Bronson participated with the utilities of Western Washington and local broadcasters to raise renewable energy awareness and increase demand for green power throughout the state of Washington. Its initial donation of fulfillment gifts leveraged extra sales to the program and created customers throughout the region served. In recognition of its work with the Western Washington Green Power Campaign, Batdorf & Bronson received a 2004 Green Power Leadership Award.
