The maximum Federal benefit changes yearly. Effective January 1, 2008, the Federal benefit rate is $637 for an individual and $956 for a couple. |
STATE ADDED SUPPLEMENTSSome States supplement the Federal SSI benefit with additional payments. This makes the total SSI benefit levels higher in those States. SSI benefit amounts and State supplemental payment amounts vary based upon your income, living arrangements, and other factors. |
NO STATE SUPPLEMENTThe following States do not pay a supplement to people who receive SSI benefits:
