"NORBECK KIDS" INVITES
KIDS ON AN ARCHAELOGICAL TOUR
CUSTER, SD: SEPTEMBER 16, 2008
The Norbeck Kids are off on their next adventure! A Black Hills
National Forest Service archaeologist will lead a guided tour of
the Historic Flume Trail, located on the south side of Sheridan
Lake, on October 11th starting at 10 am. All kids and parents are
invited to join this free excursion as the Norbeck Kids explore
the old tunnels and learn about the past, present and future of
this once-useful mining tool, now a walking classroom. “The
kids will discover what the flume was used for and why this path
was chosen,” said Norbeck Kids director Steve Price. The excursion
is open to kids of all ages.
News Media who wish to cover the event should show up at Calumet
Trailhead at 10 a.m. where interviews will be provided by key participants.
For more information and to register for the excursion, visit www.norbeckkids.com,
call 718-0915 or visit the U.S. Forest Service website at www.fs.fed.us/r2/blackhills
