Family Law Online Help

The Family Court is working to develop an online self-help center for "pro se" litigants.  "Pro ses" are people who need the court's assistance but do not have attorneys.

A variety of services and resources are available for pro se litigants.  If you do not have an attorney, you may wish to begin by contacting the Family Law Facilitators office for assistance.  Although Family Law Facilitators cannot offer legal advice, they can assist you in locating the necessary forms for your action and can check forms for completeness once you have filled them out.

A varierty of legal resources also are available in the community.  Some of these services are free.  Others charge fees on a sliding scale.  Some offer direct legal assistance.  Others offer classes that can help you file and manage your own legal action.  The Family Law Facilitators office can help connect you with an appropriate service, or you may view a list of family law legal resources and contact the service of your choice directly.

The Family Court also is working to post forms and instructions for various types of family law actions online.  Currently, forms and instructions are available for the following family law matters.

Forms and instructions for other types of actions will be posted in the future.  In the meantime, if you need assistance with a family law matter, you may wish to contact the Family Law Facilitators office, visit the Northwest Justice Project's Family Law Webpage, or explore other family law legal resources available in the community.
