Saluting Women's History Month: Charlotte Ponticelli

Senior Coordinator for International Women’s Issues, Charlotte ("Charlie") Ponticelli was appointed by President George W. Bush to the position of Senior Coordinator after 20 years' experience in the human rights field. Secretary Powell has called her office the "focal point within the Bush Administration for the development and implementation of our pro-women foreign policy agenda." She has traveled to Kabul and Iraq to meet with women and to see first hand what the challenges are, so she can better direct resources to needs.  State Dept. photos.
