Family Law Facilitator Program

The Family Law Facilitator Program at King County Superior Court provides information and referrals to family law litigants who are not represented by attorneys. The Facilitator Program serves clients on a walk-in basis and by appointment if an interpreter is required at the King County Courthouse in Seattle and the Regional Justice Center in Kent. Services are provided at no cost to users. Facilitators help family law litigants:

  • Obtain necessary legal forms and instructions
  • Understand court rules and procedures
  • Access legal services, other court services and community resources.
Services are available to parties who:
  • Know the type of legal action they need to take;
  • Do not have an attorney; and
  • Are involved in certain types of family law matters.
FACILITATORS DO NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE.
Facilitators cannot advise litigants about the type of legal action needed or how to fill out forms. Litigants are encouraged to consult with an attorney before contacting the Family Law Facilitator Program.
