Hints for viewing the Travel Maps
• The viewer may initially take up to two or three minutes to load
the program and default data. Subsequent refreshes or view changes should
take much less time.
•
The number and variety of possible layers will change as you zoom
in and out of the view. The software is programmed to only show a layer
when the scale of your view is applicable to that layer.
•
If you hold your mouse over one of the icons in the tool box at
the upper left, the pop-up text will tell you what the function of that
icon is.
• Only one alternative can be displayed at one time.
•
The existing condition and proposed action route maps should not
be displayed at the same time as both have the same legend one will cover
the other.
•
The scanned base map that is used as a background display may not
align perfectly with the GIS generated line and polygon data and may include
outdated information, but it provides a useful locational reference.
•
Only general types of changes are displayed on the alternative
maps. However, the specific route classifications and
use changes proposed for a given route can be queried using the
identify tool .
• The map browser includes a query tool that can be used to display
route designations by type. Your map views can also be printed
to 8.5"x11" Adobe Acrobat .pdf files.
• Please use the route numbers
(eg. 1457, tr_248, U0091, xt_103) shown on the proposed action
maps when providing written comments on specific
routes.
• The map browser includes additional help files that describe the
functionality
of the interactive web site.
• Enjoy exploring the capabilities of this interactive tool!
