Ethiopia – Pardon of Second Group of Opposition Leaders

We welcome the release of the second group of opposition politicians and commend the Ethiopian Elders for their successful and dedicated facilitation efforts. We encourage the Government of Ethiopia and the Elders to remain engaged in the promotion of national reconciliation and political reform.

We believe this action will promote continued political dialogue and we stand ready to support and encourage all parties towards democratic openness.
