About Us

Office of Community Services
 

OCS was established by the Legislature in 1985, by Act 305 (codified as Chapter 371K, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS)). Under Section 371-K, HRS, the primary purposes of OCS are to:

  • 1) facilitate and enhance the development, delivery, and coordination of effective programs for those in need, and

  • 2) provide advice and assistance to agencies of the executive branch, private human service agencies, and the legislature.
