The Wildflower Foray has been around for 23 years.  The Foray’s founders hit on a winning combination when they paired interesting and enjoyable programs with the serious work of collecting spring wildflower data. The Foray has grown from a one day to three day event. Each year, new people join the fun and veterans of the wildflower count share their wisdom and experience. Each challenged the other to discover new species in bloom. Together, they have monitored habitat change over time.

This year, every nature lover will find something to enjoy during the 23rd Wildflower Foray: wildflower and bird walks, a Lake Monroe boat trip, history, owl calling, nature photography, medicinal plants, and a geocache-style "treasure hunt." Experience the sights and sounds of spring in the forests of southern Indiana. Saturday evening includes a summary of the wildflower census, and and a program by Geoffrey Keller, Cornell University Laboratory of Ornithology.  Enjoy music of forest and field as Geoff shares recordings of local songbirds and relates the stories behind them.

During the Wildflower Foray, please visit our Welcome Centers at Locations A and C, for information and refreshments. (see map of locations on page with schedule)
